Introducing "Little White Romance"

"Here comes the bride, all dress in white" as we hear on the very special day of everyone's life. I was fascinated by the colour white as it symbolises different meanings in different cultures. White can mean purity, kindness or even empty and loneliness .

I've been working on building a collection my new designs focusing on Bridal and Formal wear. It is the closes thing i can get to couture as i love intricate details and layering of multiple textures.

This is a shoot using a few vintage pieces from the wardrobe.

White lace and white sequins can be an interesting combination with its different texture. Let me know what you think.

THE MAKEUP: I used white eyeshadows around the eyes and defined it with a white pencil. I recommend the Napolian white eyeliner because the white is very opaque. With a black eyeliner i extended the outer edge of the eye and finished it with a pair of thick lashes. I used a nude lipstick colour in a few of the shots and a moron colour in the others.

THE HAIR:  I usually don't do middle parts for my hair, but thought I'd try it out this time. I've just recently changed to the balayage look. The hair is lightly curled and teased to give a natural messy look. The second look is the Updo styles that I've pinned to one side leaving the fringe lightly draping across the front. Use props to finish of the look and WAAALLAAH... The look is complete.

Myself and FD UP

Net-A-Porter is all well and good, but what happens if the budget does't stretch to Marc Jacobs or Stella McCartney? The online shopping revolution has been slow to come to the more affordable fashion party.

Now Sydney duo Dee Tran and Fion San have come to the rescue with their brilliant boutique, F'D UP, which is all about top trends turned over fast. "We love online shopping, and wanted to create a destination for people to shop for affordable, on-trend fashion" says Tran."We are obsesses with trends, and we're always looking at internal online stores, but finding we couldn't afford the pieces we adore. So we decided to do it ourselves! Why shouldn't you have a new piece every week to go out on the weekend? We've edited a smart selection of fashion, jewellery and accessories that is always changing"

Right now, that means crochet dresses, denim bustiers, pleated chiffon maxi skirt and statement knuckle duster rings. The pair met studying fashion at St George Tafe, and both work at Sydney label Bracewell after graduating. These days they juggle jobs within the industry-both work by day at Sydney fashion labels- with Saturdays at the Markets and evenings working on their store.

"All our friends are in fashion, so we got them on board", says Tran. "The idea is to collaborate and make it fun. We're not about just posting flat lays of product- we love to style shoots, so we get our friends to model, we do the hair and makeup ourselves and film video clips, which we post on the site and on our blog. All of these aspects add to the store experience.

" What are they into right now? "Hip hop dancing and blue lipsticks," laughs San. Today anyway. Tomorrow, it could be something completely different. "That's why we love fashion- because it moves so fast"

A tinge of colour amongst the White

A year back I was working on my label "Deetee". These were a few pieces from my old collection that i still love.

A Blast of the Past

I thought a great way to start this new blog is to show you a selection of my previous works. All the clothes are designed by myself. As you can see the styling is quite dramatic and they are great examples of my type of styling. A little bit of colour for the day, YAY!
